2025-2026 Summer Term

Welcome back to Autumn Term, Octavia Class!

We have an exciting term of learning ahead! In English, we will be writing action stories inspired by The Stone Age Boy, while in Maths, we will focus on place value, addition, subtraction and geometry.

In History, we will explore life from the Stone Age to the Iron Age, while Geography will develop our map-reading and fieldwork skills. In Science, we will discover how the human body works, and in RE, we will explore the Christian Creation story.

We will also enjoy line art, programming, off-beat music, football, gymnastics and sewing, alongside learning about friendships, belonging and positive relationships in PSHE.

We look forward to a fun-filled term of learning and discovery!

Recommended Websites and Apps

A selection of websites and apps used in the classroom to support and consolidate understanding of key concepts.

  • Topmarks - A website with a great selection of maths and literacy based activities for all ages. Place Value Basketball and Funky Mummy are firm favourites for the children! Free to access and a great parent's area.
  • Phonics Play - A selection of free interactive games to support your child’s developing phonic knowledge (some games do require a paid subscription).
  • Oxford Owl - A great website with a range of free to access e-books, support and guidance for parents, a range of maths games and much more!
  • ICT Games - A selection of free to access interactive games to support home learning in all subjects.
  • National Numeracy - A good website with lots of useful resources. It is designed to raise standards of numeracy across the country for both children and adults and it has specific areas for parents who want to help their children.
  • Sounds of the English Phonic Code - A video which clearly models and demonstrates the pure sounds of the English language. A great resource to support parents in modelling the correct articulation of each sound.
